Our Approach

Investment discipline comes first.

Institutional financing requires more than an attractive project or an innovative financial instrument.

It requires clarity about the underlying asset, the source of repayment, the allocation of risk and the rights of those providing capital.

NAI's proposed investment approach is built around four principles.

Asset Eligibility

Assessing the underlying economic activity, jurisdictional framework, environmental objectives and suitability for the proposed investment mandate.

Credit Fundamentals

Examining expected cash flows, repayment capacity, counterparties, security arrangements, maturity profiles and downside risks.

Appropriate Financing Structures

Developing debt-financing arrangements that reflect the economic characteristics of eligible assets and the requirements of institutional market participants.

Governance & Ongoing Oversight

Establishing appropriate arrangements for administration, monitoring, reporting, risk management and independent verification where relevant.

Our objective is to develop financing solutions grounded in institutional investment principles, with technology supporting rather than defining the investment proposition.

Institutional Securities Infrastructure

Established financial principles. Developing digital capabilities.

NAI intends to use digital securities infrastructure to support the issuance, administration and lifecycle management of institutional debt instruments.

The proposed programme is being developed around clearly documented investor rights, appropriate governance, transparent records and reliable operational processes.

Digital infrastructure may support more efficient administration and information management. Any such benefits will depend on implementation, regulation and operating arrangements. We are progressing the proposed Guernsey legal and regulatory framework, together with the appropriate administration, custody and securities-servicing arrangements.

NAI is also developing digital securities market-infrastructure capabilities through its participation in the Bank of England and FCA Digital Securities Sandbox. The programme and infrastructure remain subject to their respective regulatory requirements and permissions.

Admission

Supporting the admission of eligible institutional sustainable debt securities, subject to appropriate standards, documentation and market requirements.

Trading venue infrastructure

Developing infrastructure in relation to a proposed trading venue, subject to regulatory progression and applicable permissions.

Disclosure and classification

Supporting clearer information standards for sustainable debt instruments linked to Nature, climate resilience and NDC-aligned finance.

Securities lifecycle

Improving efficiency across issuance, admission, trading, servicing, data handling and ongoing instrument management.

Market connectivity

Designed with the requirements of issuers, investors, intermediaries, custodians, advisers and infrastructure partners in mind.
